Jon: Vocals, Guitar
Jon Hettinger, Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
I started playing guitar when I was 14. I started with two different teachers showing me the basics and playing some songs from the hair band era and I was instantly hooked! I never became a shredder like my idols C.C. Deville, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads but I learned to be a great rhythm guitar player. I never played in any bands until I co-formed S.O.S in 2003. My skills have improved ten fold since the start of S.O.S and my love for music has expanded to all genres.
I have two daughters, Mackenzie and Sydney who love to hear us play and I try to have them come to shows when possible. They're both talented singers in their own right.
I love playing music and get such a great feeling when we play live and the crowd gets up and moves around and sings along with us. S.O.S has gone through some major changes over the years. I feel the current lineup is the strongest and most talented group of guys I could ever have the pleasure of working with. I expect S.O.S to be rocking the South-Central Pennsylvania area for years to come!
Gear
My gear consists of all Gibson guitars for my electric work. They run through either a Hughes and Kettner duotone 100 watt head or a 40 watt Fender hot rod deluxe limited edition into a Mesa Boogie 4x12 cab with Celestion vintage 30’s.
My pedal board consists of a Morley Volume Pedal, Morley Bad Horsie wah, T-Rex reverb, small clone chorus, Mxr line booster, and Korg blackout tuner running through pro co lifelines cables. I also use a sennheiser wireless system on stage.
